How much data do I really need for a 10-day trip to the USA?

I'm going to the US for 10 days and will mostly use my phone for maps, messaging, and checking restaurants, plus maybe some Instagram and email. I'll have Wi-Fi at my hotel. Should I get a 3GB, 5GB, or 10GB plan? I want to avoid running out but also not overpay.

For your described usage with hotel Wi-Fi, 5GB is usually plenty for 10 days. If you plan to stream video or use your phone as a hotspot, go for 10GB.

I did 10 days in the US with 3GB and ran out on day 7 because I used Google Maps a lot. Next time I'll get 5GB.

I always buy 10GB for a week just to be safe, but I tether my laptop. If you're just on your phone, 5GB is more than enough.

Don't forget that maps can be downloaded offline in Google Maps, which saves a ton of data. I used only 2GB in 10 days with that trick.

I'd say 5GB is the sweet spot. You can always top up in the app if you run low, so no stress.

If you're unsure, start with 5GB. Our app lets you add more data instantly if you need it, so you won't be stuck without a connection.

I used 7GB in 10 days because I streamed music and podcasts on drives. If you do that, get 10GB.

Hotel Wi-Fi helps a lot, but public Wi-Fi can be spotty. I'd go with 5GB and use Wi-Fi whenever possible.
