How much data do I need for 10 days in the USA?

I'm going to the US for 10 days and will be using maps, messaging, and some social media, but no heavy streaming. How much data should I plan for? I'd rather not run out, but also don't want to overpay for a huge plan.

For 10 days, I got by with 3GB by sticking to Wi-Fi for updates and downloads. But if you stream music or videos, bump it up to 5-10GB.

Most travelers use 300-500MB per day for maps, messaging, and light browsing. For 10 days, a 5GB plan is usually plenty unless you stream a lot.

I always get 10GB for a 10-day trip just to be safe. It's not much more expensive and I never worry about running out.

Don't forget that hotel Wi-Fi is often spotty, so having a bit extra data helps. I used about 4GB in 10 days with moderate use.

If you're driving and using GPS a lot, data can add up. I'd recommend at least 5GB. Also, download offline maps as backup.

You can start with a smaller plan and top up in the app if you need more. That way you only pay for what you actually use.

I used 2GB in 10 days because I was mostly on Wi-Fi at cafes and hotels. But I only used maps and WhatsApp. It really depends on your habits.

For social media and some YouTube, I burned through 8GB in a week. So for 10 days, I'd say 10GB is a safe bet if you're a heavy user.
