When does the plan validity start for an Iceland eSIM?

Question

I'm planning to visit Iceland soon and I'm curious about when the validity of my eSIM plan starts. Does it begin when I purchase the plan, or does it activate upon arrival in Iceland? Any guidance on this would be appreciated!

The plan validity for your Iceland eSIM starts when you arrive in Iceland and activate the eSIM. This means you can install it before your flight, but it won't begin to count down until you land and connect to the local network.

I had a similar question before my trip! I installed my eSIM while still in the airport, but it only activated once I touched down in Reykjavik. So it’s great for saving data before you land!

Just a heads up: I set up my eSIM in advance, but didn’t actually use any data until I arrived. It was super convenient for me to have it ready right when I landed!

Same experience here! The minute I landed in Iceland, my eSIM was ready to go. Nice not to worry about finding Wi-Fi when you’re arriving as a tourist.

I double-checked with the eSIM TopUp customer service before my trip, and they confirmed the validity starts on activation. It’s good to know you’re covered as soon as you land.

I bought an Iceland eSIM before my trip and activated it right away at the airport. It was super smooth and I didn’t have to deal with any roaming charges!

Just to clarify, I’ve used eSIMs in multiple countries and they all seem to activate upon arrival. Iceland was no different—worth it to avoid any connection issues!

Exactly! Activating your plan upon arrival ensures you get the full duration of your prepaid plan. It's one of the best features of using eSIM for traveling.
